Marriott St Pierre is no hidden gem. In truth, it is probably one of the most popular courses in Wales and has been a fantastic host to many top tournaments through the years. Since being founded in 1962 Marriott St Pierre has hosted the Dunlop Masters, the Curtis Cup and most recently the Solheim Cup in 1996 where the Europeans were thumped by their American counterparts by 17 to 11.

What a view from the top of the one of the best golf courses in wales, in fact the whole course is stunning. If you want to play golf in south wales then this is a course you must play. The whole facility makes it the perfect choice for golf breaks wales. We played the old championship course that once hosted the Wales Open and it was a great challenge. The highlight is the 18th over the water towards the club house, with the bar and patio directly opposite. It adds a certain drama to the end of any round and cheers you up even if you have had a bad one. You can’t help but imagine yourself playing for the championship!
