Llanishen Golf Club
Llanishen Golf Club is a parkland course situated on the hillside in north Cardiff and overlooks the city, the Bristol Channel and Somerset coast line.
Whereas the course is not long it does present a challenge to all handicap players. With a pleasant variety on left to right and right to left shaped holes combined with small target areas from tee to fairway and fairway to green, playing to your handicap will be an achievement in itself.
A course development stategy is now underway and designed to ensure continued improvement in the future.
The club house was opened in 1995 and offers all the usual facilities including a club bar, lounge bar, restaurant with magnificent views, fully stocked professional shop and a full sized snooker table.
Directions to Llanishen Golf Club
Leave the M4 motorway at Junction 32.
Take the slip road to Cardiff on the A470 and turn left at the first set of traffic lights.
Travel along Pantmawr Road to the T junction and mini round-a-bout.
Turn right and proceed past the Deri Pub on the left and turn left by the Mormon Church.
Proceed along Heol Llanishen Fach until you reach traffic lights at a T junction.
Turn left and take the A469 to Caerphilly.
Climb the hill to Caerphilly and cross over the motorway.
Take the First Turning right sign posted 'Lisvane' and Cefn Onn Park'
Follow the lane until the road narrows and after this take the first turning left on top of the second hill.
It is sign posted 'Llanishen Golf Club, Second Turning Right'

I played here with our society last Autumn and was surprised how pretty the course was. Set on a side of a hill above the Welsh Capital this Cardiff Golf course has a long heritage. Apparently it was opened in 1905 which means that there are many well established trees on the course. It is a surprisingly short course but it does have a few tricky little par 4s and a Par 5. I would say that if you are planning a luxury Golf holiday there are plenty of nice places to eat around the course and if you are simply with a society ot just enjoying a shory golf break then there equally some good pubs 2 minutes from here. The club house was warm and welcoming and the members had plenty of wisdom to impart about the courses history.
